For the past two seasons, I’ve had the honor of photographing for The Scout Guide Gulf Coast. It has been one of the most meaningful chapters of my photography career.

If you’re familiar with The Scout Guide, you know it’s more than a publication. It’s a beautifully curated collection of locally owned businesses, creatives, and entrepreneurs. To be trusted with telling those stories across the Gulf Coast has been incredible.

Showcasing the Heart of the Gulf Coast

From charming boutiques to thoughtfully designed home interiors, I’ve had the opportunity to step inside spaces built with passion. Each business has its own unique heartbeat.

My role isn’t just to photograph products or storefronts—it’s to capture the WHY behind each brand.

The moments before opening.

The warmth of a space that was dreamed about long before it ever opened its doors.

Working across the Gulf Coast has allowed me to see firsthand how much creativity and resilience lives in our local business community.

Building Relationships Beyond the Camera

One of the greatest gifts of working with The Scout Guide Gulf Coast has been the relationships formed along the way. Many of the businesses I’ve photographed have become repeat clients, collaborators, and even friends.

It’s extremely special to walk into a space as a photographer and leave feeling like part of the story.

Branding photography is deeply personal. When a business owner trusts you to represent their work, their passion, and their livelihood, that’s not something I take lightly. My goal is always to create imagery that feels elevated, authentic, and timeless—photographs that serve them long after the publication is printed.

A Creative Stretch and Refinement

Photographing for a publication like The Scout Guide has stretched me creatively. It’s refined the way I see light, composition, and storytelling in commercial spaces. I have learned to slow down and look for intentional details. The Gulf Coast has such a distinct aesthetic—coastal, welcoming, layered, and refined. Capturing that essence while honoring each brand’s individuality has been both a challenge and a joy.

Grateful for Growth

As I reflect on these past two years, I’m so grateful. Grateful for the businesses who welcomed me in. Thankful for the creative community that continues to grow along our coastline. Thankful for the opportunity to document entrepreneurs who are building something meaningful!

Working with The Scout Guide Gulf Coast has allowed me to expand beyond family storytelling into brand storytelling—while still holding onto what matters most to me: connection, authenticity, and heart.
